I'm a Kreativ Blogger

Fellow blogger Staying Afloat has bestowed upon me the coveted (a girl can dream, can't she...?) Kreativ Blogger award. I was very touched by her gesture, but even more so by her words:

"G6 at Guess Who's Coming to Dinner. Everyone needs a mentor. I look at G6's blog and I see a window into a household I'd be privileged to be running when I reach her stage in life, as a mother of older children. She's got a beautiful balance of aesthetics, spirituality, common sense and humor that really works for me. And she's got an inspiring pride in her culture and hometown. Plus, my family loves the recipes and the pictures of the Shabbos and holiday tables :)."

These words, coming from somebody who doesn't owe me any money {grin} and has never even met me, make blogging feel very worthwhile.

Now I guess I need to "play along" with the rest of the award requirements, don't I? Sheesh.... This is not my favorite part. Here are the rules of the award:

• You must thank the person who has given you the award. (check)

• Copy the logo and place it on your blog. (check)

• Link to the person who has nominated you for the award. (check)

• Name 7 things about yourself that people might find interesting. (arggghh!)

• Nominate 7 other Kreativ Bloggers. (gotta think...)

• Post links to the 7 blogs you nominate. (no problem)

• Leave a comment on which of the blogs to let them know they have been nominated. (will do...)

Seven thing about me? Really??? Haven't you had enough with the blog already???
  1. My vision is complicated by "off the charts" astigmatism which my eye doctor postulates could have come from a difficult cesarean birth (they squeezed my head 'til my eyes popped???!?!??).
  2. When I was a little girl, I used to watch "Wild Kingdom" on television and the first career goal I ever had was to be one of those people who went off to Africa to tag the animal's ears and then monitor their migration patterns.....
  3. The closest I ever came to this goal was perfusing chickens in college (if you have to ask - you may not want to know.... and definitely not over dinner...)
  4. I'm slowly discovering that many of the things they told me I "wasn't good at", when I was a child, I'm pretty talented at after all.
  5. I don't take out the garbage...... EVER.
  6. Currently, my Google Reader subscribes to 88 blogs and 'news' sites (Wow... that many? Yikes.).
  7. I don't tell anyone about my blog - even my closest friends. You've gotta find it on your own ;).
Now.... drum roll, please..... on to the nominations.

I'm going to bend the rules a bit and not nominate 7 blogs because I can't afford to have seven bloggers irritated with me all at the same time {grin}.
I will however, mention a few blogs that I find interesting and leave the decision whether or not to participate in the continuation entirely up to them.
  1. ProfK over at Conversations In Klal, pens probably one of the best worded, best thought out, and most enjoyable blogs that I currently read.
  2. Citizen of Brooklyn North gives regular exercise to my funny bone and reminds me that laughing at ourselves is very healthy.
  3. Shosh at Day By Glorious Day makes me feel like a member of the family and exalts in the joys of everyday living with a house full of young'uns. What a precious time that passes all too soon.
  4. Ilana over at In the Nuthouse because I don't want any sibling rivalry between her and Shosh .... JUST KIDDING!!!! She's an absolute scream. To call her funny would be an insult.
  5. Something Different really stays true to her name over at A Blob of Something Different. To borrow from Forrest Gump, her blog is like a box of chocolates - - - you never know what you're gonna get.
  6. And last but not least, I want to give mention to a fledgling blog, Mo's Arch. Mo has just started his blog, so there's not a whole lot of content as of yet, but I look forward to reading about his adventures in architectural school and I do already enjoy his "word of the day". I encourage you to check it out now and again once he's fully up and running.
OK.... that's all for now....
What are you still doing reading? Don't you know that Yom Tov is coming????

Blushing purple here and very full of thanks for the nomination. Means a lot that it comes from a blogger whose own blog I think of as well written, entertaining and well worth every minute I spend on it. A well-deserved honor for you, G6, and again, thank you for nominating me.

Great list- I'm hopping over to the new ones. Please tell me you're still making dessert. I can't have that on my conscience.

That number 4 is scary. And who takes out the trash?

ProfK - I meant what I said. Yours is one of the few blogs I refuse to "skim". If I don't have time to read it properly, I save it for later.

SA - Nah, number 4 is not so scary at all.... and my dear husband takes out the garbage ;)
And don't feel too bad about the dessert - it'll get done.... eventually ....

Help! I've been reading the tutorials on blogger until I'm crosseyed and I still can't figure out how to copy the logo onto my blog. Please, take pity on me and send an email with instructions.
