Wednesday's Wacky Signs

Technically not a sign, but the feeling is so universal that you've got to admire the gumption of these people....

Has anybody actually walked out after waiting for service?
Feel free to share your stories....

yes, I have walked out. As I walked out of a restaurant, 30 minutes after waiting for service, the manager came up to us and made up some stupid story about the skeleton lunch staff and tried to justify himself! It was extremely aggravating, but I didn't write anything in ketchup ;-( shame I didn't think of it.

oh my! that's freaking awesome! love the guts of whoever left that on the table, he should of told the waiter on the way out that there's was a message for him at the table.
my brother and I once put the tip my parents left at our table in a bowl of mustard, just for the fun of it though.

Yes! We have done that! (the walking out part I mean...) we were at a restaurant with the kids and after a good long time and noone even coming up to us, we decided to go to the pizza shop across the street instead. Walking out the door, the manager approached us and asked why we were leaving. After we told him he said we should give him our order and come back in 15 mins. We shopped next door and when we returned, our food was waiting for us!! it was great, we'd love to pull that every time!:)

i did that. i went to a cafe with a bunch of friends. after waiting for fifteen minutes, we gave up and left. nobody even bothered to ask us why we were leaving. and the saddest part is that it wasn't even a full place.

a party of 10 adults with a reservation waited close to an hour, and then we left and went to kosher delight. following a letter of complaint we received complimentary wine, appetizers, and desserts for a future visit. which was good because as a group we never buy wine. but I don't know if I'd go there again. Some of us actually would have left after ten minutes, but since it took us forever to decide on a restaurant, it naturally took forever to decide to leave. I wanted us all to hang out inside, in the way of the waiters.

Can't remember ever having to wait an interminable time for service in a restaurant (we just don't eat out all that often) but I'd hope that I, too, would have the guts to comment and leave. To be disrespected and to have to pay for that yet just doesn't sit well with me.

We once waited in a restaurant in Deal, first 30 minutes for a table & then for our order. After waiting 20 minutes from the time our order was placed (with several hungry children) found out that the waitress either did not enter our order into the computer system or did not save it. We walked out and have not been back again.
